Amazon Alexa Flash Briefing Added for QSR Blog  

According to Gartner, 75% of US households will have a smart speaker like the Amazon Echo or Google Home by 2020. That number roughly equates to 100 million! Do you already have one? If not, you may want to add this item to your Christmas list because you can now utilize an Amazon Alexa Flash Briefing skill for our blog.   

Think about it, what sources do you rely on to get your daily fix of restaurant tech news and updates? How do you stay current with the ever-evolving hospitality trends? If you answered through your subscription to the QSR Automations blog, your content intake will get a little easier moving forward. We’re excited to now offer our blog subscribers an Amazon Alexa Flash Briefing for our content. And, the skill is easy to enable.  

What Is The Briefing? 

Skills for Alexa are the equivalent to apps on your mobile phone. After enabling the skill for your home speaker, you can ask, “Alexa, what’s my flash briefing?” and this will trigger updates from the news sources you’ve enabled. Think of it as a podcast for your content. That’s right, you can now multi-task and listen to our blogs read aloud to you by Alexa.   

Why Did We Create This Skill?  

At QSR one of our core values is Hunger. We have a hunger to continuously innovate and identify new and advanced ways to accomplish everything we do – from developing our products, to marketing them to our audiences, to sharing our knowledge and thought leadership. Developing the flash briefing for our blog content is just another way in which we can provide our readers with accessibility to the content we have to share. In addition to simply staying on the forefront of technology, we understand that people have changed how they get their news and we need to offer our content in the way it is being consumed.  

How Do I Enable This Skill? 

Now, for the fun part! Smartphone or tablet users can enable the Flash Briefing skill on their device through the Alexa app. Once the app is open, click the “Menu” icon in the upper left corner of the app and choose “Skills & Games.” Type “QSR Automations” in the search bar and click the “Search” button. Next tap the listing for “QSR Automations” and click “Enable Skill.” Once enabled, a user can ask an Alexa-enabled device, “Give me my Flash Briefing” to hear the latest updates from the QSR Automations blog. Our Flash Briefing content will be updated as new blogs are posted. It’s that easy to stay up to date on the latest and greatest in restaurant industry news.
