QSR Automations has been busy and we didn’t slow down around the holidays. Our most recent releases of ConnectSmart® Kitchen, ConnectSmart®Host (Formerly DineTime) and our Consumer App have added features that will enable restaurants to enhance the off-premise diner’s experience without negatively affecting guests in the dining room. Let’s take a look!
ConnectSmart 7.2
ConnectSmart® Kitchen added functionality to provide better quotes for customers who place orders online or through an app. Previously a restaurant’s POS system was the source of a quote time for pickup. However, the POS can’t see the Kitchen, it may have an idea what’s going on back there based on what was rang in but it doesn’t know the real time actions that have been taken. Or if a station is getting backed up creating a delay ripple effect. ConnectSmart® Kitchen tracks real-time events and can provide a more accurate quote to a mobile customer.
Not only will our new Quoting Manager generate more precise quotes, it provides restaurants the ability to account for the additional time for extra packaging often necessary with Togo or Take Out orders. Ramp-up times will adjust quoting based on conditions in the kitchen when the order is placed. Any destination affected by mobile ordering will benefit from the intuitiveness of our new quoting scheme.
You may be asking yourself, what about the guests in the dining room? Are they being slighted by mobile orders?
Not at all!
To improve efficiency in the back of house, ConnectSmart® Kitchen added the ability to display key metrics from ConnectSmart®Host, our guest management solution. ConnectSmart® Kitchen and ConnectSmart®Host are now sharing information like never before!
CSK can now display several pieces of data from ConnectSmart®Host. Open Menu Count, a count of the number of guests seated that have NOT placed an order yet. Number of guests waiting, seated or paged. This information may be separated by party size or display all parties! A chef can quickly know the status in the dining room without leaving the kitchen.
Add these metrics to display as a header or a completely separate station in the kitchen. Kitchen teams will appreciate not being surprised by a flood of orders displaying all at once.
ConnectSmart®Host 6.2
Restaurants utilizing both solutions will also have the ability to send TakeOut information from Kitchen to ConnectSmart®Host. Host stand team members will be able to see how many orders they have, who they are for, what car they drive and how the order is progressing in the kitchen.
